 The
1st Songkran Invitational Taekwondo Championship
was held at The Mall, Ngamwongwan, Bangkok,
Thailand, on the 5th and 6th of April 2000,
organized in conjuntion with the Songkran
Festival (The Thai New Year). 13 clubs from
5 countries, namely, Thailand, Bhutan, Taiwan,
Singapore and Malaysia participated in this
meaningful event. There were approximately
172 participants in both the sparring and

 The
overall Champion Trophy was awarded to Thailand
with 8 Gold, 7 Silver and 15 Bronze. Bhutan
was 1st Runner Up with 5 Gold, 2 Silver
and 2 Bronze. 2nd Runner Up was awarded
to BTFC (Malaysia) and Chinese Taipei respectively
with 4 Gold and 1 Silver.
