A Summary of Our Achievements

Formed and established in 1989, BTFC was later accepted as the pioneer batch of associate clubs
to the National Association in 1993. 
Currently registered to the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia since 2005.

Managed and run by a team of dynamic and aggressive technical administrators seeking to accomplish excellence in performance and achievements, we stand as the most prominent and active club in Malaysia. Among our numerous achievements, we were awarded the Malaysia’s only Best performing club in 2002.

We are recognized as the 1^st National Training Centre in Malaysia under the National Sports Council of Malaysia since 2007

With established good contacts internationally as well as throughout Malaysia, we play a major part in the propagation, development and promotion of this popular Martial Art / Olympic Sport locally and internationally.

Lets browse through some of our major accomplishments and activities lined out : -

I) International events organized / hosted by BTFC : - 

1995        Founded and Organized the 1^st International Clubs Open Taekwondo Championship                    – Kuala  Lumpur

1996        Hosted a Cultural Exchange programme for 300 Korean Taekwondo Children and 300 Local Taekwondo Children in Kuala Lumpur.

1997        Organized the 2^nd International Clubs Open Taekwondo Championship – Kuala  Lumpur

2000    Played host to 3 Danish Taekwondoins for a 2 month intensive training

2001    Played host to a friendly Match with Singapore Blue Wave Taekwondo Club.

2001    Organized an International Taekwondo Seminar conducted by Grand Master Park Hae Man,        ( 9^th Dan ), Grand Master Kwon Young Woon (9^th Dan) & Master Kim Jae Min (7^th Dan).

2002    Played host to a friendly Match with Taiwanese Junior team led by Master Mao Kee Lung

2003    Played host to a friendly Match with Vietnamese Junior team led by Master Nguyen Quoc Tam

2004    Played host to a friendly Match with Singapore Junior team led by Master Nordon Lim

2005    Played host to a friendly Match with Hochihminh City team led by Master Nguyen Quoc Tam

2005    Organized a Taekwondo Seminar conducted by Grand Master Park Hae Man, ( 9^th Dan )

2005    Organized a Coaching Seminar conducted by Prof. Kwon Hyouk Joung

IV) Some of the most prominent and distinctive achievements by BTFC : -

i)           BTFC’s Chief Coach Master Wong Ching Beng won the Bronze Medal at the World Taekwondo Championship – 1993 and Hiroshima Asian Games – 1994

ii)         Founded and Organized the 1^st International Clubs Open Taekwondo Championship – 1995

iii)       Hosted a Cultural Exchange programme for 300 Korean Taekwondo Children and 300 Local Taekwondo Children in Kuala Lumpur – 1996

iv)       The only Club in Malaysia to publish an Annual Magazine since 2000

v)         Sahril Ismail won the 1^st ever Silver medal for Malaysia (Taekwondo Event)

vi)       Awarded the one and only National Best Performing Club – 2002

vii)     Organized the 23^rd National Youth Taekwondo Championship in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of over 1000 young athletes throughout the nation.

viii)   Won the National Youth Championship Overall Champion for 3 consecutive years (2001,02,03) and the only Club in Malaysia to retain the National Youth Challenge Trophy – 2003

ix)       Master Kevin Woon was the 1^st and only Malaysian to have officiated in the Olympic Games Taekwondo Event in 2004 Athens Olympic Games

x)         BTFC was recognized as the 1^st National Training Centre in Malaysia under the National Sports Council of Malaysia – 2007

BTFC currently has over 1200 registered members, with over 40 athletes (9 to 21 yrs old) selected to attend competition training every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday under the guidance of    Chief Coach, Mr. Wong Ching Beng.

The Parents Committee contributed greatly to BTFC’s great achievements by providing the much needed encouragements and support to the players.

Our aim is to promote the positive values of life (ie. respect, good health, discipline, good ethics, etc.. ) for our younger generations and ultimately bring glories to Malaysia at all international levels of Taekwondo competition right up to the Olympic Games.
